Enemy stats

Except for a few mix-ups, Nintendo Power's Superstar Saga Official Player's Guide is dead-on with the enemy stats.

In the NP guide:

• The stats listed for Cackletta (Woohoo University) are actually for Cackletta's head in the final battle.
• The "Sharkbone" stats line is for the shark-skull variation of the "????" enemy.
• They are missing stats for Oho Jee, Limbo Bro (Guffawha Ruins), Gritty Goomba (Gwarhar Lagoon), and ???? (Cheep Cheep variation).
• Though they match what's stored in the game data, some boss Exp/Coin awards are less than what you actually receive. (See bosses list.)

Notes:

• HP = Heart Points; Spd = Speed; Def = Defense; Exp = Experience awarded; Coins = Coins awarded.
• Power values appear to be attached to the enemies' attacks.
• These are the values stored in the game data. Some values might not apply (for example, redundant Exp/Coin values for boss phases), but we left them in so you can see all the changes.
• Bosses are listed in order of appearance.
• Double-click anywhere in the table to highlight the differences.

1Cheep Cheep: If you defeat Cheep Cheep in its Puffer-Cheep form, you earn the Puffer-Cheep Exp and Coins.

2Oho Jee: Red or blue, they start with 75 HP, but you can bring them up to 100 HP by healing them with like-colored Hand Attacks.

3Parabeanie: If you damage Parabeanie enough without defeating it, it turns into a Beanie.

• U.S. version:
  • If Parabeanie is defeated as a Parabeanie, you receive Exp and Coins from Parabeanie only. (Total: 9 Exp, 2 Coins)
  • If Parabeanie is defeated as a Beanie, you receive Exp and Coins from the Beanie only. (Total: 4 Exp, 2 Coins)
• Japanese version:
  • If Parabeanie is defeated as a Parabeanie, you receive Exp and Coins from Parabeanie only. (Total: 8 Exp, 5 Coins)
  • If Parabeanie is defeated as a Beanie, you receive 15 Exp and 6 Coins, equivalent to Parabeanie plus Beanie plus 3 Exp.

4Paratroopea: If you damage Paratroopea enough without defeating it, it turns into a Troopea.

• U.S. version:
  • If Paratroopea is defeated as a Paratroopea, you receive Exp and Coins from Paratroopea only. (Total: 20 Exp, 4 Coins)
  • If Paratroopea is defeated as a Troopea, you receive Exp and Coins from the Troopea only. (Total: 16 Exp, 3 Coins)
• Japanese version:
  • If Paratroopea is defeated as a Paratroopea, you receive Exp and Coins from Paratroopea only. (Total: 9 Exp, 8 Coins)
  • If Paratroopea is defeated as a Troopea, you receive 18 Exp and 6 Coins, equivalent to two Troopeas plus 10 Exp.

5Pestnut (Chucklehuck Woods): After taking 16 damage, Pestnut turns into a Beanie or Gold Beanie. You cannot kill it as a Pestnut.

• U.S. version: You receive Exp and Coins from the Pestnut and the Beanie.
• Japanese version: You receive Exp and Coins from the Pestnut and the Beanie.

6Pestnut (Oho Ocean): After taking 40 damage, it turns into a Beanie or Gold Beanie and floats away.

• U.S. version: You receive Exp and Coins from the Beanie that floats away.
• Japanese version: You receive Exp and Coins from the Pestnut and the Beanie that floats away.

7Scaratroopea: If you damage Scaratroopea enough without defeating it, it turns into an Elite Troopea.

• U.S. version:
  • If Scaratroopea is defeated as a Scaratroopea, you receive Exp and Coins from Scaratroopea only. (Total: 48 Exp, 20 Coins)
  • If Scaratroopea is defeated as an Elite Troopea, you receive Exp and Coins from the Elite Troopea only. (Total: 40 Exp, 12 Coins)
• Japanese version:
  • If Scaratroopea is defeated as a Scaratroopea, you receive Exp and Coins from Scaratroopea only. (Total: 90 Exp, 12 Coins)
  • If Scaratroopea is defeated as an Elite Troopea, you receive Exp and Coins from Scaratroopea only. (Total: 90 Exp, 12 Coins)

8Tolstar: After beating Tolstar, you are awarded all the Coins he took from you before the battle.

9Hoohooros: You are awarded Coins from two Pillars, no matter how many you defeated.

10Dragohoho: You are awarded Coins from both Hoho Stone forms, even if you never destroy one.

11Queen Bean: You are also awarded Exp and Coins from Beanies you defeated during the battle. In the Japanese game, Beanies defeated in this battle give double their normal Exp and Coins.

12Cackletta (Woohoo Hooniversity): In the U.S. version, you are awarded Exp and Coins from two fakes, no matter how many you defeated.

13Mom Piranha: You are also awarded Exp and Coins from two Piranha Plants, no matter how many you defeated. If you defeat Mom Piranha when she is blue, you get 0 Coins from her in the U.S. version.

14Trunkle: Trunkle's head-tree and non-fake small version share HP. In the U.S. version, you can get 1030 Exp by beating Trunkle in his big form (attack his head) or by taking him out in his small form with all three fakes still standing. Otherwise, you get 1020 Exp if there are two fakes still standing, 1010 Exp if there is one fake left, and 1000 Exp if all the fakes have been crushed.

15Popple (Chucklehuck Woods): Collect any amount Coins that Popple throws at you and you'll walk away with 121 Coins instead of 120 after beating him. The Japanese version tacks on 4 Coins for each Coin you collect during this battle.

16Birdo: You are also awarded Coins from four Eggs, no matter how many Birdo produced.

17Egg: Birdo's Eggs break after one hit.

18Lemmy: When you beat Lemmy, you also get Coins from three of his fakes.

19Wendy: When you beat Wendy, you also get Coins from three of her fakes.
