DrM64 screen shot

Overview

First in the line of many remakes of Mario games set to come out over the next few years, Dr. Mario 64 will improve on the Dr. Mario NES/GB releases from 11 years ago.

This time, up to four players can get in on the contagious fun simultaneously, and from early screen shots, it looks like Dr. Mario 64 will be decorated with Wario Land 3 characters, much like Tetris Attack featured Yoshi's Island characters.

The gameplay and play control will probably not change from the NES and GB versions. Similar to Tetris, Dr. Mario features multi-colored pills that you must rotate and maneuver onto the red, yellow, and blue viruses that have infested some sort of jar. When three or more similar-colored pill-ends have lined up with a virus of the same color, said virus is cleared and points are earned. Of course, like most every other puzzle game, even more points can be earned from combinations.
